The BIAWA was originally founded in 1982 as the Washington State Head Injury Foundation by family members determined to create a system of support for all Washingtonians affected by Brain Injury.\n\nOver the years\, the BIAWA has become a statewide resource for individuals with brain injury\, managing the Washington State Brain Injury Resource Center and offering intensive resource management in most counties. The BIAWA is proud to serve 10\,000+ individuals a year through free classes\, support groups\, information and referral services\, and social opportunities.
