DESCRIPTION:Join Friends of North Creek Forest & Whale Scout for this special Orca Recovery Day and OktoberFOREST restoration event! Healthy forests positively impact the streams flowing through them\, supporting healthy habitat for Chinook salmon - our Southern Resident Orca Whales favorite meal! Clean water is also the main ingredient in beer!\n\n\n\nRestoration tasks are available for every age and ability as you work shoulder-to-shoulder with your family and neighbors - and with new friends you haven't met yet!\nCelebrating the connection between healthy forests\, clean water and great beer with an OktoberFOREST restoration work party for the community!\n\nTools and work gloves are provided at the events and activities could include invasive species removal\, mulching\, planting native species and more!\n\n\n\nVolunteers should dress in weather-appropriate attire. Sturdy\, closed-toe shoes required\; BOOTS are recommended.\n\nVolunteers ages 15 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult.\n\nSnacks and refreshments are provided!\n\nPlease RSVP for this free event\n\n\n\nVolunteer work parties at the UW-REN site of the North Creek Forest provide great networking opportunities\, an introduction to restoration ecology\, and a fun way to spend time in the great outdoors!\n\n\n\nSupport for this volunteer event is provided by the Puget Sound Stewardship and Mitigation Fund\, a grantmaking fund created by the Puget Soundkeeper Alliance and administered by the Rose Foundation for Communities and the Environment.
