DESCRIPTION:Cairn Brewing is proud to host Friends of North Creek Forest in the taproom with a featured presentation:\n\n\n\nFrom Fairways to Fish Habitat: the story of community-led salmon habitat restoration at the former Wayne Golf Course - Whitney Neugebauer\, Whale Scout Founder & Director\n\n\n\nOnce privately owned and slated for development\, Bothell's former Wayne Golf Course is now a public park thanks to local community organizing and the support of conservation partnerships. Learn how a golf course is being transformed into salmon habitat and how Whale Scout is engaging local students and community groups to get the job done.\n\n\n\nWhitney Neugebauer is the Founder and Executive Director of Whale Scout\, a nonprofit organization based in Bothell\, WA. Programs she manages include community-led salmon habitat restoration and an educational land-based whale watching program. Whitney also serves on the Bothell Parks and Recreation Board\, Friends of North Creek Forest\, and Heartwood Nature Programs. She completed her Master's degree in Marine and Environmental Affairs at the University of Washington in 2011.\n\n\n\nOur pub talks are informal & held in our taproom--bring a friend or neighbor to learn more about environmental issues in our community.\n\n\n\nFNCF's team will be in the taproom to talk about their mission and share how you can get involved.\n\n\n\nHave a beer and support the forest!
